Model Nicole Fujita, or Nicorun, holds a gift set of 35 KitKats at the KitKat Chocolatory in Ginza, Tokyo, on Wednesday. Japanese KitKats are known for their rich variety of flavors, from staples like matcha green tea and strawberry to the more unique ones using wasabi or purple sweet potato. Many regions of Japan have their own gotochi limited specialty flavors, like Nagoya’s azuki (sweet red bean) toasted sandwich. To celebrate the 45th anniversary of KitKats being sold in Japan, KitKat Chocolatory is selling a large-size package containing a colorful array of KitKats at their main Ginza shop. Featuring the all new flavor, “strawberry tiramisu”, the package is filled with 35 different flavors, including the ones mentioned above. Fujita said she was surprised that there were so many flavors of KitKats, and showed enthusiasm for the new set with 35.
KitKat Chocolatory also created a special tiramisu dish (1,200 yen) topped with strawberries and KitKat chocolate that is available in the Ginza shop until February of next year.
The 45th anniversary limited edition package costs 5,800 yen and will be sold in all KitKat Chocolatory stores and online shops from Nov 19.
